Umpire specializes in providing advanced operational management solutions for public safety agencies, including aviation, drone units, SWAT teams, marine forces, K-9 units, and more. Their mission is to enhance operational readiness, reduce risk, and save lives through innovative technology solutions. Umpire ensures that public safety teams can carry out their missions without delays or obstacles, enabling them to stay mission-ready at all times.

The Challenge

Umpire approached us to develop a visual identity that would represent the gravity of their work in the public safety sector while showcasing their modern, tech-forward approach. The key challenge was balancing the serious, high-stakes nature of their services with an intuitive, easily recognizable design that communicates clarity, confidence, and trust. We were tasked with creating a brand that reflected these qualities and stood out in the public safety space.

The logo was designed to embody Umpire’s core values of authority and oversight. We created a custom symbol based on a drone silhouette to represent their innovative approach. This symbol is simple, scalable, and easily recognizable, ensuring the brand’s presence across different applications, from uniforms to digital interfaces.

We aimed to create a modern, minimalist design system that could translate across multiple formats and platforms, from operational interfaces to promotional materials. For the color palette, we selected Muted Cyan — to evoke a sense of trust, reliability, and professionalism, Clear White — to enhance clarity and provide a neutral background that complements the other elements.

Ultimate Black — to bring contrast and depth to the design, emphasizing precision and control, Gin Green and Soft Blue — to provide subtle, calming accents that suggest technological innovation and readiness, Grey — to balance the palette and add a sense of seriousness and weight

With this new visual identity, Umpire now has a brand that not only looks the part but also communicates exactly what they stand for: authority, innovation, and readiness for action. To make sure the Umpire’s identity stays consistent across all touchpoints, we created a clear brand guideline system.

Umpire’s new visual identity needed to feel both serious enough to communicate the gravity of their work and approachable enough to stand out in a busy, competitive market. New design system ensures they are recognized as a trusted partner in high-stakes environments where every second counts.
