Knowt Brand Mascot

Instead of just being another study app, Knowt wanted a character that students could connect with — someone playful but also expressive enough to reflect different moods and emotions.

Knowt wanted a mascot that would be instantly recognizable as part of the brand, feel friendly, fun, and relatable for students, and have personality — not just a static logo, but a character that could react, encourage, and engage.

Also character had to work well across different formats, from social media to app animations. After exploring different animal concepts, we landed on dragon and named it Kai. He’s playful, expressive, and full of personality — perfect for a study buddy that students would love.

We designed a cute yet versatile dragon mascot that could express a range of emotions —happy, nervous, focused, excited — so it could interact with students in a way that felt personal. The design was kept simple and bold, making it easy to recognize at a glance, whether on an app icon or in an animated scene.

The character was developed in multiple scenarios, bringing it to life beyond just a single image. We made sure it could encourage students when they did well, look concerned when they struggled, and even celebrate their study wins.

We made sure that Kai was consistent even offline. Our design team developed a range of print-ready materials, so mascot can stay with students not only in the virtual classroom.

Kai became a core part of Knowt’s brand, making the app feel more engaging and human. Like other famous mascots, Knowt’s dragon gives the brand personality—turning studying from a task into something students can actually enjoy.
