Challenge

In Australia, most building design and drafting firms still look and sound dated — conservative visuals, overly technical language, and a lack of transparency in communication. Renovate Plans wanted to stand out as a modern, technology-driven studio while still earning trust from a mature 40+ audience that values clarity, experience, and reliability.

Insight

Homeowners seeking renovations or extensions often feel overwhelmed by unclear processes, slow communication, and designs that don’t reflect how they live today. They want experts who combine architectural precision with a human, transparent approach.

Goal

To position Renovate Plans as the go-to partner for residential building design — modern, approachable, and trustworthy — helping Australians transform old layouts into homes that feel current, functional, and personal.

Strategic Essence

The strategic core revolves around clarity, modernity, and trust. Our goal was to create a brand system that visually and verbally mirrors the logic of construction itself — structured, layered, and transparent. Yet behind that structure lies a more human purpose: to bring a modern process to timeless homes, showing that innovation and tradition can coexist naturally.

Each element reinforces this foundation:

Transparency — an open, step-by-step process where clients understand every phase. Modernity — modular visuals, geometric rhythm, and a color system inspired by blueprints and progress lines, expressing progress without abandoning familiarity. Trust — a calm, confident tone that conveys expertise while remaining approachable. Humanity — design language and messaging that make clients feel guided, not lectured; supported, not sold to. The result is a brand that looks as precise as the plans it creates, yet speaks with warmth and authenticity — a balance rarely achieved in the Australian drafting industry.

The logo was the first step in bringing this identity to life. We designed a simple yet effective symbol inspired by architectural structure — a building shape made of three layers. Each layer represents a different stage of the construction process, symbolizing Renovate Plans' step-by-step approach to building design. The logo is clean, easy to recognize, and versatile, making it ideal for both digital and print materials.

We chose BDO Grotesk for the typography, providing the brand with a strong, solid foundation.

This font is clear and legible, ensuring readability across all applications, from web content to print collateral.

To further build the brand’s identity, we created a unique 3D graphic combining the letters "P" and "R". The "P" is shaped like a solid architectural block, symbolizing the foundation of construction, while the "R" adds depth and structure.

We applied the new visual identity across a range of materials, from digital assets to billboards and documents. This consistent branding now helps Renovate Plans confidently position themselves as experts in the building design space, appealing to both residential and commercial clients.
